About Us p1/1

Wild Lights photography was an idea imagined long ago, but it took time to see it come to pass. Its goal is well defined and simple.

Rendering the feeling of freedom of the natural world throught photography in hope to connect people with the natural world..

Nicolas Menu Born the 25th january 1974 in Les Brenets, Switzerland. A small village on the Doubs river, within walking distance of France…

Life was good and I had plenty of time to wander the forests and canyons of the Doubs river, hiking in the Swiss Alps. I spent much time wit with my parents biking or walking in throughout France, from mountains in the southeast to the to the coast of Brittany in the northwest.

Very early, I learned the French culture is all about food (or almost)…from frog legs, to marinated wild rabits to the most amazing French cheeses in termes of taste and smell… My father is French and my mother is Swiss. One could say I was raised between " Swiss fondue and French wines ". I had the best of both worlds and it gave me the most enjoyable life one can wish for.

By age 14, I began mountaineering and climbing. I always brought along a small camera to capture my memories. By 17, paragliding took an important place in my life until I had a crash a few years later. I badly broke two bones in my back, which took me a year to fully recover. By that time I had taken up land-surveying as a profession. …

Surveying was good for me but it was not enough.Certainely not as satisfying as the time I spent in the outdoors I took a long trip to New Zealand in 1997. I was happy and free, ready for travelling and yearned to satisfy what was becoming one of my passions : photography.

During that time, I spent many monthes (actually years) traveling the world in quest of wild photography adventures. Slivia, whom I met at work, entered in my life in 1998 and has been my girlfriend, for the better…

Travel photography is not a solitary activity any more as Silvia and I do the work together. Silvia is much more into people as I'm a kind of bearish Montan Mountain Man (sometimes) who takes more nature photos. It makes for a good combination.

Anyway, Let's browse this site and see what there is to see. Please feel free to send us your feedback.
